Eat a lot of sugar? You are digging a grave with your teeth

Whoa, now there’s a strong title to a blog post. Is it meant to shock, yes, is it meant to stir up a positive action in you, certainly!

Eating sugar on a daily basis causes more illnesses and disease than anything else we consume.

Forget alcohol or fatty foods, sugar in excessive amounts is what is massively affecting our health and sugar has also been found to be more addictive than cocaine. Now, by no means am I advocating to drink excessively and eat a fry-up every day, they are just the less of the evils when it comes to your health. Sugar is the enemy of a healthy lifestyle and robs you of your energy, well-being and causes mental and physical disease.

Here are some of the negative effects on your health from eating a lot of sugar:

  • Cancer
  • Heart Disease
  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • Rapid Weight Gain
  • Hormonal Imbalance (specifically insulin, cortisol, ghrelin, leptin, adiponectin)
  • Excess Acidity (particularly uric acid)
  • Premature Ageing
  • Liver Disease
  • Alzheimer’s (and other brain diseases)

That’s a pretty scary list if you ask me and these diseases can all be traced back to sugar.
